Chef Talisha “Tish” Castro is a retired U.S. Army veteran turned culinary visionary, known for transforming struggle into success through her passion for food, people, and purpose. After proudly serving 26 years in the Army, Chef Tish traded her uniform for a chef’s coat, bringing the same precision, leadership, and heart that once led soldiers into her kitchens. Her road hasn’t been easy — from building her first restaurant under someone else’s vision to enduring betrayal, lawsuits, and financial loss. But through it all, she rose again — stronger, wiser, and anchored in faith. With grit and relentless determination, she rebuilt from the ground up and launched her flagship brand: The Southern Eatery in Stockbridge, Georgia. More than a restaurant, The Southern Eatery is her victory story plated with purpose — a space where Southern comfort meets sophistication and every dish tells a story of resilience, strength, and soul. Today, Chef Tish stands as a culinary entrepreneur, mentor, and inspiration — proving that even when life strips everything away, your gift and your grit will always carry you through.
